This extremely rare oil has a very low yield and is only produced by one farm in the World. No wonder Honey Myrtle is attracting a lot of interest both from the aromatherapy and the pharmaceutical worlds. Honey Myrtle has a rich, sweet, deep honey aroma which is a real joy to the senses.
Honey Myrtle oil comes from the plant Melaleuca Tereifolia. If the name sounds familiar it's because it's from the same family as Tea Tree oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia. Like its better known cousin, Honey Myrtle contains exceptional anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. Clinical studies are only just beginning, but the signs are that Honey Myrtle is a powerful essential oil, and interestingly more powerful than Tea Tree as an anti-inflammatory, anti-septic and anti-bacterial.
